Peter Victor is a professor emeritus of environmental studies at York University. Ron Baiman is a professor emeritus of economics at Benedictine University. Both are concerned with the economic implications of the current urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas from the atmosphere. Can it be done without causing such cut-backs in the economy that will create hard times for the whole human population – especially the poor? Victor has published studies of the question specifically for Canada. Baiman believes that, if technology changes enough, we can all live well and reverse global warming.
